Do I have to have insurance on the motor home?
Yes. Full coverage insurance is required for your own protection as well as ours. Alaska state law requires that a policy must have at least the following liability limits:

$50,000 Bodily Injury coverage
$100,000 Liability Coverage
$25,000 Property Damage Coverage

Do I have to use Murphy's Insurance?
No. Murphy's RV policy is available for your convenience only. Our policy costs $25.00 per day. The policy carries a $500 per incident deductible. A driver must be at least 25 years old to use this policy.

How can I use my own insurance policy?
To use your insurance you will need a binder from your insurance company. Your agent should contact Murphy's RV to get the necessary information the agency will need to issue the binder about 10 days prior to your arrival. The binder must have full coverage with at least the minimum required amounts required by the state of Alaska and show Murphy's RV as third party additional insured. We will give your agent the vehicle description and the vin# of your rental unit. The binder must include the effective dates of your RV vacation - pickup and return dates. Your agent can fax the binder to us at (907) 562-0680. We can not release the motorhome to you until an insurance policy is in force.

Does the insurance cover all damages that occur?
If you are using your own insurance, you will need to check the individual limitations of the policy. Murphy's RV insurance does not cover any damage due to negligence, undercarriage damage, overhead (roof) damage, windshield or tire damage.

Do I have to put a security deposit on the motorhome?
Yes. A security deposit will be held in the amount of the deductible of the insurance you are using or $250 whichever is higher. The security deposit will be refunded to you within 24 hours of the return of the motor home to Murphy's provided there is no damage to the motorhome. Do not be concerned about the 24 hour delay, most of our customers receive their refund before they even leave the lot.

What happens if we have damaged the motorhome and it is covered under the insurance?
If there has been an accident or damage to the motorhome that is covered under the insurance, your security deposit will be held until an estimate is made of the repairs. If the repairs are less than the amount of your deposit the remainder will be refunded to you upon completion of the repairs. Damages to motorhomes are not always repaired immediately unless it effects the safety of the coach. The repairs may be made at a later date depending of the situation.

When do I pay for the rental?
At the time that you are checking out the motorhome to leave on your vacation, an estimate of the charges will be made. This includes the daily rate, possible insurance charges, extra charges for camping gear if applicable and security deposit. Payment in this amount less your reservation fee is received before you leave our lot. When you return the motorhome, the full and correct charges will be assessed.

How will I be able to pay for the rental?
Murphy's RV accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card. We also accept cashier checks, travelers checks or cash. If you prefer to pay with a personal check we would require payment 14 days in advance. A charge of $25.00 will be levied on any checks returned NSF. Refunds will be issued by credit card or by a Murphy's RV company check within 24 hours of RV return.

What happens if we need to drop off the RV after regular business hours? 
Arrangement can be made at an additional cost. Please contact us directly for details.

What if our flight leaves Anchorage very late in the evening/or very early in the morning, what kind of arrangements can be made to help us out?
Special arrangements can be made to leave the motorhome at the airport to accommodate your schedule, at an added cost. This type of arrangement must be made in advance. If a motorhome is left at the airport, you are responsible for it until a staff member of MRV has taken possession of the vehicle.

How long does it take to check the motorhome in or out?
Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for the check out of the motorhome upon your arrival at Murphy's. This time will include an orientation of how to use the coach and a full condition assessment. The check-in of the motorhome upon return to MRV will usually take about an hour. This check-in includes a damage assessment and completion of rental documents. This time can be longer if you have not filled the gas and propane tanks or dumped the waste tanks. Please allow time for you to stop at the gas and dump station before you come to the lot. This time can also lengthen on those days that are very busy.

What do I need to bring with me to check out the motorhome?
MRV can speed you on your vacation of a lifetime if you could please have a few simple things ready:

Driver's license of all drivers
Drivers of coach must be present to sign contract
Payment

I have never rented or used a motorhome before, will you tell me how to use it?
Our staff will demonstrate the care and use of the motorhome during the orientation when you check out the motorhome. The motorhomes are also equipped with an instruction manual and we are always as close as a telephone during your trip.
 
Do I have to bring my own dishes and cooking utensils?
Each motorhome is equipped with a full kitchen. This includes pots, pans, utensils, dishware, silverware, serving pieces, cleaning agents, paper towels, toilet paper and toilet chemical. The kitchen is well enough stocked that all you need do is go to the local grocery for food and start your vacation.
 
Do I have to bring my own sheets and towels?
The Linen Package includes sheets, pillow, pillowcase, towels, washcloths, dishtowels, dishcloths and blankets.
 
May I bring a pet?
Pets can be in a motorhome only upon prior approval of Murphy's. Additional costs will be charged for the cleaning of the motorhome following rental. Please call for details.

Cancellations:
If reservations are canceled 30 days or more prior to rental pickup, 50% of deposit will be refunded. If cancellations are received less than 30 days prior to rental pickup date, the deposit is forfeited. If rental is terminated by Client prior to termination of rental agreement there is no refund.
